Travel Ilha Grande, BrazilIlha Grande is a beautiful island covered by untouched Atlantic rain forests. The main, and only, town is small and has no cars.
To get to Ilha Grande you first have to get to Angra dos Reis and then take a boat to the island. The boat ride is very enjoyable and some boats even provide drinks – soda, water, beer. Once on Ilha Grande check out Praia Lopes Mendez, which is on the other side of the island,
There are also over 100 other beaches to visit, some of which can be reached by foot, while others are only by boat access. You can also join an organized tour that will take you to good snorkeling spots and some great beaches. and is considered by many to be the most beautiful beach in Brazil. It can be accessed by boat or by a three-hour 6.1km (each way) hike. You may want to hike there early in the morning before the sun is at its peak, then catch a boat back – just be sure to follow other beach goers back to the dock – a 10 minute hike from the beach.
